Founded by Angus Ware and Jeffrey Simpson, the studio draws inspiration from nature and the impact of plastic waste on the environment. Its designs combine functionality with a playful character and a clear message.

Conscious design is central to Heliograf's approach. The brand explores how materials can be reused and how everyday products can be reimagined. This vision comes together in the Light Soy lamp, a distinctive design that connects a familiar everyday object with a much bigger environmental issue.

The Light Soy lamp by Heliograf

The Light Soy lamp is inspired by the familiar fish-shaped plastic containers used to serve soy sauce with sushi. The designers noticed how many of these small, single-use items were being used and how easily they could end up as waste in the natural environment. They decided to enlarge the recognisable fish shape and turn it into a functional lamp. An everyday disposable object becomes a distinctive design piece that draws attention to plastic pollution.

The lamp is available as a portable table lamp and as a pendant light. Its recognisable shape and straightforward design make Light Soy suitable for a variety of interiors. It is a playful object that provides light while also starting a conversation about how we use materials and deal with waste.

Design with a positive impact

Heliograf uses recycled plastic for the Light Soy lamp, giving material that could otherwise contribute to pollution a new purpose. In addition, the brand funds the removal of 2 kilograms of plastic from the environment for every lamp sold, working with dedicated cleanup initiatives. This means the design goes beyond simply reusing materials.

At Davinis, you can discover the Light Soy lamp by Heliograf: a distinctive combination of functional lighting, recognisable design and environmental awareness.
