Michelle Kanters
ABOUT THE artist
Michelle Kanters is a visual artist whose work invites reflection on our place within nature and the structures that shape our reality. Through her practice, she creates an alternative anatomy of the world.
Her work draws from childhood memories of growing up on a farm, where installations emerge that merge sculptural and natural elements. In these environments, the relationships between human, animal, and plant are reimagined and rebalanced.
Working with ceramics, textiles, and other sculptural techniques, she explores the blurred boundary between nature and culture. In her studio in Rotterdam, she handcrafts each piece, where craftswomanship and creativity come together.
