SUSTAINABLE LIVING

At Davinis, we are supporters of ethical and conscious consumption. We collaborate with brands committed to responsible production. Not all brands are fully sustainable yet, but we deliberately choose partners who are taking steps in the right direction.

We want to make sustainable living fun and inspiring! For us, it’s about furnishing your home with unique, special items that truly make you happy. Sustainability means high-quality products, honestly made, that tell a story and last for years. Together, we are building a collection that becomes increasingly conscious and surprising, without forcing you to choose between sustainability and design.

Our Perspective on Sustainable Living

We don’t believe in “more, more, more.” Every product you buy has traveled a long journey: from raw material, to factory, to wholesaler, to store, and finally to your home. At each step, resources are used, energy is consumed, and CO₂ is emitted. Many products are of lower quality, which means they don’t last long. Cheaper prices also often mean that someone in the chain earned less, usually the people at the bottom, working under poor conditions.

Impulse purchases make the problem worse. You build less emotional value with such products and are more likely to buy something new quickly. Or the product breaks prematurely, forcing you to replace it again. Even when you try to make conscious choices, it’s often difficult to know what is truly a more sustainable option. All in all, the current process is not sustainable and poses a challenge for those who want to make better choices.

We also sell new products and are therefore part of this process. But we want to do things differently, step by step.

Our Sustainable Steps

We collaborate as much as possible with brands that prioritize a sustainable approach from the start. These are brands that have integrated sustainability into their business model. Many of them produce in Europe, where regulations and oversight of working conditions are stricter. Often, these brands make their products themselves, in small batches, sometimes even by hand or with their own machinery. This not only ensures more attention to craftsmanship, but also reduces transportation and CO₂ emissions.

We also pay attention to materials. More and more of the brands we work with are experimenting with innovative and more sustainable alternatives, such as 3D-printed designs made from recycled or biodegradable plastics.

Finally, we focus on quality. We work with design brands that create products built to last and retain their value. We want to encourage you to invest in items you truly love, pieces that can last a lifetime and won’t disappear from your interior after just one season.

Sustainability Criteria

Not all brands in our collection are fully sustainable, and we’re honest about that. To make it easier for you to make a conscious choice, we indicate which sustainability criteria each product meets. This way, you know exactly what you’re choosing and can decide which step toward sustainability is right for you.

Here are the criteria you’ll find on our products:

  • Fair working conditions
  • Sustainable materials
  • Sustainable production
  • Locally produced (Europe)
  • Supporter of good causes

This allows you to see at a glance which sustainable values each product meets.
